As the A&AS Financial Manager providing Program Management Office support at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Franklin G. is responsible for quality control and budget verification actions for contracting and acquisition documents before submission. Franklin conducts evaluations of contracting, acquisition, and financial documents for completeness and accuracy. He works closely with a host of partners to complete the review process.
Prior to joining MELE, Franklin served as a Business Education teacher in the Alexandria, Virginia City Public School System providing computer technology and business education instruction. Before entering the teaching profession, he worked in the federal government for 22 years after serving in the U.S. Air Force.
“The best part of my job is serving the needs of the DTRA management/leadership team and staff on behalf of MELE to provide the best capabilities for the warfighter,” shared Franklin.
“I learned early in my military career and through my family upbringing that serving one’s community and country is a great, selfless thing a person can do. The best thing about working with MELE and DTRA is that the organizations provide a good work life balance, including teleworking opportunities and social events that allow for good old fashion fellowship. I’m extremely blessed to be a part of the MELE family,” he added.
Franklin was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama. He is the proud father of three and a proud grandfather to his four grandchildren. Franklin’s favorite part of the day is the early morning when he runs several miles before he starts work. He also loves to travel anywhere new abroad, and he plays golf occasionally when not traveling.
