Meet LaZette C. She is a Human Resources Liaison (HRL) for the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). As an HRL, she manages an NNSA office’s hiring process and works closely with Hiring Managers and various areas of the NNSA HR Department. LaZette has been part of the MELE family since 2023. Prior to joining MELE, she worked as a Human Resources Manager for a small Geospatial Government Contractor where she and her team managed compliance, benefits, and employee engagement.
LaZette enjoys the camaraderie that exists among her team members and the way MELE works to keep everyone connected.
“The chemistry of the team I’m on is amazing! While all four of us have never all been in the same room at one time, we work well together. We have learned how to lean on each other’s strengths and carry a little more when others are heads down on a tight deadline. Even when the workday is busy and the curveballs keep coming, we still find ways to laugh and enjoy our time collaborating with one another,” she added.
“I really appreciate the efforts Mele makes to communicate with all its employees. It’s easy to send your employees out onto a contract and lose touch. The periodic updates from our leadership, luncheons close to the client site, and employee social events feel like genuine efforts to build relationships between MELE and its employees,” stated LaZette.
“LaZette does a fantastic job ensuring that all facets of our hiring process run smoothly. Her work, and the work of the HRL team she is an important part of, ensures we are efficient, organized, and adaptable, which is critical to securing the talent NA-90 needs in a competitive market,” stated MELE VP Justin Hixson.
LaZette grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii. She is a self-proclaimed “Navy Brat” and has lived all over the world. She now calls Washington, DC home. She is a mother of two boys, Carter (18) and Chase (14), who have made her a soccer and baseball mom. When not working, LaZette enjoys lifting weights, kickboxing, and, most of all, cheering on her youngest son’s baseball team or getting her extended family together for dinner.
