Meet Marlena E., a Financial Analyst who works with the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). She is the lead Budget Analyst/Business Manager and provides oversight of and support for a full range of budget functions. Marlena has been with MELE for just over one year. Prior to joining the organization, she worked for Los Alamos National Laboratory as a Financial Business Analyst 3 where she ran the Q-Division and W93 Systems Development and Realization. Prior to her work at Los Alamos, Marlena was a federal employee at the NNSA.
While Marlena has only been part of the team for a short time, she has enjoyed her time working at MELE and living in the Albuquerque area.
“I love the fact that MELE trusts their employees and does not micromanage. I also like how they try to really bring everyone together and do the little things to let us know that they care,” shared Marlena.
“The best thing about working here is that I could live outside of the city of Albuquerque and still enjoy country living without a long travel time to work. I live just outside Albuquerque and have a nice little ranch,” she added.
“Marlena’s unwavering commitment to supporting the DTRA client truly sets her apart. Her proactive approach and positive attitude make working with Marlena a pleasure, and her dedication to going above and beyond ensures that the support she provides is nothing short of stellar. I am proud to have Marlena as part of the MELE team!” stated MELE Vice President Susan Bowers.
Marlena grew up in New Mexico at various locations, including Albuquerque, but her favorite stop along the way was a one stop light town where her grandma and uncle lived—this town is the one she thinks of as home. When not working, she loves spending time on her ranch with her family, her grandkids, and friends.
