Rockville, Maryland, August 20,2024—MELE Associates, Inc. (MELE), a veteran-owned , minority-owned small business with more than three decades of success in the government contracting space, announced today that the company, as part of the Allegheny Science & Technology Corporation (AST) team, won a non-personal performance-based Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) call order to provide support services to the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Grid Deployment Office (GDO). This award falls under the Technical, Engineering, and Programmatic III (TEPS III) BPA.
The DOE’s mission is to ensure America’s security and prosperity by addressing its energy, environmental, and nuclear challenges through transformative science and technology solutions. The mission of the DOE’s GDO is to provide electricity to everyone everywhere, by maintaining and investing in critical generation facilities to ensure resource adequacy and improving and expanding transmission and distribution systems. GDO works to execute grid modernization solutions that help achieve clean energy goals and mitigate climate change impacts, while ensuring the availability of clean, firm generation capacity such as hydroelectric and nuclear energy. GDO activities are supported by numerous appropriations such as annual appropriations, Bipartisan Infrastructure Law appropriations, Inflation Reduction Act appropriations, among others.

The value and Period of Performance for MELE’s portion of the award were not immediately disclosed.
